Lunch Votes

Votes aren't tied to your name, but they aren't untracked: this browser gets a random ID that's saved with each vote. It can't be traced back to you as a person.

How your vote is stored

What: the first time you vote, this browser creates a random code (for example 7c9e6679-7425-40de-944b-e07fc1f90ae7) and keeps it on this device. That same code is saved with every rating and answer you send from this browser. It's the one identifier this site uses.
Why: so nobody can vote twice on the same lunch, so you can change your answer later, and for tracking and future analytics, like how many people vote and how ratings change over time.
What it isn't: it isn't linked to your name, email, or any account, and this site doesn't store IP addresses, so it can't be tied to a human being. Your streak is worked out from it, and only this browser sees it.
Your control: clearing this site's data in your browser deletes the code from your device. Your past votes stay, but nothing links them to a new code.
Feedback sent through this site is stored separately and isn't connected to the code.
Averages only appear once 5+ people have voted on a lunch. This is how it works for now and may change.
